Everyday, on average, 17 855 tonnes of waste is generated in Singapore! They come from households & trade premises and commercial and industrial premises. 10 295 tonnes get recycled whereas 7 083 tonnes get incinerated. 477 tonnes are used in landfill because they are non-incinerable. Out of the 7 083 tonnes of waste that gets recycled, 1 728 tonnes that are ash goes to the landfill too.
