How Singapore and Perth manage waste

The public waste collection in Singapore is divided into nine sectors. These nine sectors are managed by four Public Waste Collectors(PWCs).
  1. Pasir Ris-Tampines; Bedok; Tanglin-Bukit Merah (by Altvater Jakob Pte Ltd
  2. Jurong (by Colex Holdings Ltd)
  3. Clementi; City; Hougang-Punggol; Woodlands-Yishun (by SembWaste Pte Ltd)
  4. Ang Mo Kio-Toa Payoh (by 800 Super Waste Management Pte Ltd)
PWCs collect waste from residential and trade areas in Singapore. PWCs also provide recycling services under the National Recycling Programme (NRP). Waste is collected separately in the commercial and manufacturing areas of Singapore.
Waste collected by the PWCs and general waste collectors are sent to the four incineration plants in Singapore (Tuas, Tuas South, Senoko and Ulu Pandan) and to the Senoko landfill off the shore of Singapore. Waste that are incinerable are sent to the incineration plants while non-incinerable waste and incineration ashes are sent to the landfill.

How Perth manages waste

Citizens in Perth have to hire waste management services such as the City of Perth waste services to help them clear their waste.
This is how the City of Perth Waste Services help citizens clear their waste.

General waste collection services using the Green Bin are provided to all residential and commercial places in Perth. Residential areas have a Yellow Lid Bin for all recyclable materials including glass, plastic, paper, and aluminium cans. A "paper only" recycling service is provided to commercial places in Perth. A Yellow Lid Bin marked ‘Paper Only’ is provided. A cardboard recycling service is offered for free to commercial properties within Perth who use the company's general waste services. Citizens can also drop off their waste at places such as the Tamala Park Recycling Centre.
